Social Media Love

Can you share a positive example of where you’ve felt loved?

Next month will be the fourth anniversary of my oldest brother’s death and when he died, he left no insurance so it was up to me to figure out how to bury him. Because funeral arrangements are so expensive, I made the decision to have him cremated but I couldn’t afford that either. So I took out a payday loan , my daughter and best friend gave me some money but I was still short $1000.

Sitting up a Go Fund Me page is popular amongst people who are struggling to bury loved ones but I didn’t want to do that because I didn’t want to look like a beggar. A sister I know from Facebook that I’ve become close with suggested that I make a status on my page asking everyone to send a dollar to my Cash App to help pay for his cremation and my god. So many people sent me money that I broke down in tears. I had no idea that I was loved like that. These people didn’t have to do anything for me but they did because they loved me and wanted to help. People often talk about the relationships that people form via the internet and say they aren’t real friends but they are. Because of my friends on Facebook, I was able to get my brother cremated and bring him home to rest with my other brother and our mother who were also cremated. Love comes in many forms y’all.
