The Potty Mouth Granny

Almost 30 years ago, I was on the bus leaving work. It was payday, and I was hot to spend some money on myself but naturally some weird shit would happen.

Two teenage girls got on the bus and they didn’t have any money so the bus driver who was a woman and old enough to be their mother was giving them a hard time. Now in Chicago, bus drivers have the discretion to let people ride for free and I could not believe that she was giving these children a hard time. Talking loudly and trying to make them feel low.

So I decided to get just as loud as her because she was irritating the fuck out of me.

“Let me pay for their carfare since it’s obviously such a big deal to you!”

I paid for the girls and sat down and the bus driver sat there looking stupid. Her mean spirited trifling ass. And that was my random act of kindness back in 1999.
